I went to see New Moon on Friday. I have a review (and a rant, because it's how I always am with this fandom). Click on if you have any interest in my opinions.

Guys, I don't know. I think I liked it, but I just... I don't know.

This is my favorite book in the series. New Moon is Jacob time. And I feel like they forget about that sometimes.

I.. ugh. I'm supposed to be over this series. After BD, I stuck with this fandom purely for the lulz and Jacob. I'M NOT SUPPOSED TO CARE.

I went with some friends from work and some friends of the friend. So I didn't know everyone I saw the movie with. Most of them were very VERY Edward and ughh, I am so sick of having to defend myself to E/B fans. Why do I have to defend Jacob but they can love Edward "because he's Edward" (direct quote from a girl I was with).

JACOB IS JUST AS MUCH AN OPTION AS EDWARD.

Obviously, if you ask me, Jacob is just..better. He's healthier for her. Seriously, just WATCH the movie. When does Bella ever smile around Edward? She always looks so bored and, I don't know, lonely with him. She LAUGHS and SMILES and is HAPPY when she's around Jacob. WHY DON'T PEOPLE SEE IT?!

And, dfsdszfbnasdjfb, I shouldn't've gone to a 6:30 showing. The theater was full of all the 12-year-old girls who don't know how to act in a theater. All the shrieking whenever Edward walked on screen and the booing with Jake showed up. I don't know, I'm so OVER the fans of Twilight. GROW UP. We're not all there to see Edward sparkle in the sun (also: lol, the sparkling was still shit). Some people are there because they actually like the book. New Moon is my favorite. Please don't ruin my enjoyment of the movie because the Sparkle Squad isn't on screen.

Done. I need to get over this.

I was browsing Cafe Press and there's so much stuff I would love to get, but can't. My friends already thing it's crazy that I own a shirt that says "4 8 15 16 23 48" (the Lost numbers). Now, if I got a shirt that said SYBROWS FTW! they would think I'd seriously lost it. I seriously doubt any of them actually know what "FTW" OR "Sybrows" are.

Grr. Maybe I'll just have to go for some buttons or mouse pads or something.

Well, last weekend I went shopping for a dress for my Homecoming dance, and being a teenage girl, a dress was not the only thing I was going to look for. I was obviously going to browse for other stuff too.

Something I noticed, was that I was drawn to the clothes with stripes. Why? At the time, I didn't know.

But now, after thinking about it for awhile, I know know the reason.

Custom Pedroia Shirt - HELP!

Ok, so here's the deal:

I'm making myself a Pedroia shirt (!!) and I have to figure out what to put on it. I know I want Dustin-Dusty-Double Play-Potty Mouth-Pedro-Pedroia (it's what my brother and I call him) somewhere on it, along with 15. Obviously, that can't be it, because that's lame. The problem is, I don't know what else to do.

I also don't know how I want to set it up. Like, do I want to put his name on the front and the number on the back? Number on the back and name on the front? Everything on the back? Everything on the front? I don't know!

I only get one shot at this, seeing as I've only got one blank t-shirt, so I've got to make this count. Any and all suggestions would be lovely. I'm really excited to do this.

I hate fantasy sports. I just have this unnatural dislike for them.

My mom and my brother started their first fantasy baseball team (and then later, a football one) this year. At first, I didn't really care, mainly because they didn't know what they were doing. Eventually, my brother got the hang of it, and started picking players who had the right stats. My mom couldn't get it. She'd be upstairs on the computer and I'd be watching tv with my brother downstairs. She'd yell (a very load yell, incase you were wondering) down to my brother and ask him about a player or two, they'd argue about if he was "good enough" for them, and I'd end up with a headache.

Then, sometime around September, they both started to get really into it. It got to the point where they started rooting for the other team. The team they were playing one night had just picked up Lester, who was going to pitch that night. I was sitting on the couch, watching the game, and my mom says to me, "I hope Lester has a bad night tonight." What. The. Hell. She calls herself a fucking Red Sox fan, yet she want's the Red Sox players to suck? What kind of fan is that? It pisses me off.

"Yay! Papelbon allowed a homer!"
"I wish Ortiz hadn't hit that RBI double!"
"Ok, how can we get Manny and Lowell have an amazing night, and still have Beckett suck?"

Seriously. It's discusting. And it looks like they're going to be the same with the football season. I hate it. As a Red Sox fan, you root for the Red Sox. You don't root for some of them. You don't want any of them to do bad. My brother think's he's the biggest Sox fan in the house, yet he gets excited when Pedroia makes an error. What kind of fan is that? Someone, please explain it to me.

Oh, and another thing. At dinner tonight, my parents were complaining about the loss. Yes, it sucks, but this is the Red Sox. They have off nights, but then they just pick right up the next day and kick ass. I said to them "did you serious expect them to sweep the Indians?" and my mother, dead serious, said yes. They have the same exact record as the Sox, two 19 game winners, and an overall impressive team. There was almost no chance it was going to be a perfect series. As a baseball fan, I know that. I know there are going to be flaws. I accept it, and know that they can come back.

Sorry, people piss me off sometimes.

Summary: Sylar-centric version of "Landslide"
Spoilers: Anything up to 1x21, "Landslide" (seeing as it's Sylar's version of this episode, it's safe to assume there's going to be spoiler from that episode)
Disclaimer: Heroes isn't mine. If it was, would I really be on LJ writing fanfiction?
Authors Notes: Seriously, who needs to pay attention in English class anyway? I've written this over the past week in my English class (I know, I'm a bad student). Good news is, my teacher is oblivious to everything, so even though I sit near the front, she never even noticed I wasn't doing what I was supposed to be doing. Life is good, isn't it? Since I wrote this in school, and obviously didn't have access to exact dialogue, some of the details from the episode might be a little off, but they all get the same point across. Oh, another note. This is my first Heroes fic. I haven't actually posted any fics in years, but I've got a bunch piling up just begging to be posted.

Sylar had been waiting for this. Claire had basically walked right to him. She was just walking around with the man she believed to be her uncle. If Sylar hadn't gotten help from that crazy women in Montana's powers, it would have been much harder to of found Claire. He knew the headaches would be worth it eventually.

He could hear Claire and Peter talking from a block away. Someone was going to explode, and they didn't know who. Apparently two men had the power to do it. If only they knew what was going to happen to one of them.

Sylar knew he couldn't get to Claire or Peter just yet. He was now aware that Peter had many more powers than Sylar had for himself. He didn't know how, but somehow that damn Petrelli was more powerful then Sylar was. Yes, he needed Claire healing power, but now wasn't the time. Peter was too determined to protect her. It's like there was something more than an uncle/niece thing going on, at the moment, but Sylar wasn't one to judge them. Claire wouldn't be leaving Peter's side anytime soon. Sylar's only other option was to get the second man. The man they were calling Ted. The man who had the power to go nuclear.

Sylar followed at a close, but safe, distance behind the group of three. He had to wait till he heard something he could use. Once he heard it he could put a plan he had to form in action.

"Why do we have to rent a car? Why couldn't we just fly...on a plane?" Sylar heard Claire ask her uncle.

"The FBI has my face and named plastered everywhere. They'd have me arrested before I even tried to buy the ticket," the man named Ted told her.

That was all Sylar needed. He could use the terrorist card to get Ted taken away from the group. After that, Sylar would have no trouble getting to them.

Unfortunately, Peter seemed to hear those thoughts. Sylar must have gotten to close to the group. Damn his excitement for a new power. The group ran into the nearest building to "hide" from Sylar. If only they knew that they could never really hide.

Sylar pulled out the cell phone he had stolen from the painter, Isaac Mendez. Calling the police, he informed them that there was a terrorist hiding inside a building near him. They told him that they could be there in under ten minutes and that he should find him after they arrested the man so that they could ask him a few questions.

Peter, Claire, and Ted probably assumed it was safe to leave and continue on their journey. How wrong they were. Just seconds after they stepped out of the building they were surrounded by FBI trucks. They arrested Ted, and he went along without a fight. He yelled at Peter and Claire to get out of there, and hide themselves. The FBI tried to find the two, but it appeared that Petrelli had used that invisibility power that he was so fond of. They vanished, and you could tell the FBI guys were annoyed.

"Thanks for the tip off, Mr..." The blond who's name was Audrey said to Sylar after they'd gotten Ted in the truck.

"Mendez. Isaac Mendez," Sylar said to the blond. Oh, how he loved the fact that she had spent months trying to find him, and now here he was, standing right in from of her, and she had no idea. It was enough to make him smile.

He explained to them why he had seen the need to call, and by the time Audrey turned around to continue the conversation, he was gone. Sylar couldn't risk spending too much time in the area.

He knew the route they were taking Ted out of the city, and he knew how long it would take, so he had some time to kill. He had always been a big fan of ice cream. What person wasn't? He had already had one today, but it had been vanilla and now he wanted chocolate. Ice cream sounded like a good idea for the moment. He had time before he could get Ted. he wanted to wait till they were almost out of the city, so that there wouldn't be tons of people around. Sylar liked to do his killing in private.

The ice cream was delicious, and it was getting dark. Ted and the FBI would probably be nearing the spot that Sylar had picked out for his spot of attack. Yes, everything was going as planned.

After arriving at the almost deserted road, Sylar only had to wait five minutes for Ted. He saw the truck turn the corner and everything else just fell into place. Telekinesis was great. It made everything so much easier. The truck flipped over wonderfully and required almost no effort to stop it.

With the driver dead from the flip, Sylar had no trouble getting to Ted. The door opened easily.

"Hello Ted," was all Sylar needed to say before he cut into Ted's head. It was all so easy.

New powers were always great. Learning how to use them was thrilling. Some powers were easier than others. Brian Davis' telekinesis was so easy. It was probably his favorite, too. Probably because it was his first power, other than his original one, which allowed him to do all of this in the first place. It usually only took him a day, if that, to learn to control them. The hardest one to learn had definitely been Dale's super-hearing power, but once he'd gotten it under control, it was so worth it. He wouldn't of been able to do what he's doing today if he didn't have that power. He had know Petrelli was in New York City, so it was only a matter of time before he picked up his voice somewhere in the city.

Sylar picked up on Ted's power almost immediately. He never feared exploding, at least not yet. It had never been dark out in the paintings, so it was safe for him to play with the power for now. He knew how to stop, and when to keep going. Now there were only two people who he couldn't hurt, and that was Peter and Claire, but he would find a way to get them, because those were the powers he wanted most.

Sylar knew that people would start to notice the van soon. He had to leave soon or risk people seeing him. He always enjoyed the fact that he could pretend to be one of his victims and no one would even know who he really was. He had caught some girls staring at him earlier when he had been eating his ice cream. He was a little scared at first, thinking that they knew who he actually was, but he quickly realized that wasn't why they were staring. As soon as he caught them staring they turned away and started giggling. He wasn't used to having girls staring at him. Gabriel Grey had never been lucky when it came to women. But now, he definitely wasn't complaining.

Ted Sprague probably wasn't a name he should start using. Ted wasn't exactly someone that people liked right now. If Sylar started using the name, the FBI might get a little suspicious, seeing as the Ted Sprague they knew had just been murdered.

Ted's power was definitely powerful, Sylar knew. He could do a lot of damage with it if he wanted to. He decided to find a roof where he could play with the power in private some more. He didn't want people to know what he could do. Well, at least, not yet.

He found an empty roof that he climbed up to. The feeling that he got from this power was thrilling. As he let the radiation leave his hands, there was only one thing that came to mind.

"Boom."

So here's the deal. We had to write a short story based on a picture we got in English class like a month ago. I think I talked about it in an earlier entry. Anyway, I got an A- on it, so I think I'm going to post it here *is nervous*

Rainy Day Memories

Rainy days make me remember things. Today it was pouring outside. I could hear the rain on the roof and the windows. My twenty-four year old self decided to take a trip back twelve years. I don’t really remember a whole lot about my thirteenth year of life, but there is one thing that stands out in my memory.

I was twelve, almost thirteen. My friends and I were as close as we could ever be. We knew everything about each other. We were practically sisters. The only problem was we fought all the time. We always got over it, and they were usually stupid fights that lasted a day or two. The fight of 1995 was a bad one, though. There were six of us, and we were all so different. When people first met us, they could never figure out why we were such good friends.

If I was forced to pick a “leader” of our group, I’d have to say that it was either me or Jenny. We were the outgoing ones. We were the ones who came up with our crazy adventures that usually got us into trouble, and we were the ones that took the blame when we all got caught. Jenny and I were basically connected at the hip. We were the closest out of everyone, and we fought all the time. We always got over it, and they were always stupid fights.

Grace and Rose were the shy ones. They got straight A’s in school, and they never wanted to participate in our crazy schemes. They would always get scared and would stay behind. They always stuck together. If either of them did get into trouble, which was rare in itself, they were there for each other. Jenny, Alice, Daisy and I were always teasing them. Thinking back on it, I’m not actually sure why they stuck around with us.

Alice and Daisy were the outsiders of the group. They weren’t shy, and they weren’t outgoing. They weren’t excellent students, but they got by with good grades. They were the kids that just went with the flow.

During the summer before seventh grade, the six of us were playing around on the sidewalk outside of Jenny’s house. There were flyers all over town advertising the dance-a-thon that was coming up at the end of the summer.

“Audrey!” Jenny yelled at me while I was jumping the Skip-It that we all shared.

“Hold on! I’ve got ten more skips before I beat my record,” I shouted back to her without taking my eyes off the Skip-It.

“We totally need to do this dance marathon,” Jenny suggested to the group.

I’d skipped these ten skips, so I stopped and considered Jenny’s idea. It actually sounded really fun. There’s a dance-a-thon in our town every year, but so far, our parents have never allowed us to go. This year, however, we were going to be in junior high, so we figured that we were definitely mature enough to spend our night dancing.
We all agreed that we’d do it and split into three teams. I was going to be partners with Jenny, Rose and Grace would dance together, and Alice and Daisy would be partners. We decided that if any of us won we would split the prize and share the trophy.

Two days later I got a cal from Rose asking me to meet her in the park near our neighborhood. She said that she and Grace had to tell me something.

“Okay guys, what’s up? I was getting ready to go out with my family for my brother’s birthday.”

“Well, we’ve been thinking about the dance-a-thon,” Rose said to me in her normal quiet voice.

“Yeah, we think that we want to be by ourselves, and not part of the group,” Grace said to me while looking at her feet.

“You don’t want do it with us? We had it all planned out!” I yelled at them.

“Yeah, sorry,” they mumbled to me.

After that, I stormed out of the park and back to my house. I was fuming. When my parents asked me why, I didn’t answer and ran to my room. Yes, I am very aware that I overreacted, but I was twelve and that’s what twelve year olds do.

When I had cooled down a little, I called Jenny to tell her what happened. She was just as mad as I was. We couldn’t believe what Grace and Rose were doing to us. She decided that she would call Daisy and Alice and tell them what happened. From that moment on, Grace and Rose were not a part of our lives. They didn’t exist to us.

Sooner then expected, it was the day of the marathon. It was being held in the high school gymnasium which just happened to be right around the corner from Daisy’s house. We got ready at her house and walked over to the school. When we got there we saw Grace and Rose warming up on the opposite side of the gym. We walked right over next to them and started to get ready. They tried to say hi but we just ignored them.

We ignored each other all night. We were always glancing over at them to see how they were doing, but as soon as they looked up at us, we turned away. By 4a.m. Jenny and I were doing amazing. Daisy and Alice had dropped out around 3 because Daisy was complaining that her feet hurt. We had told her not to wear her new shoes, but she didn’t listen. There were only five teams left with an hour to go. Slowly, the other teams started to drop out. It was soon just Grace, Rose, Jenny and me. Jenny was so tired. She wanted to quit but I was determined to beat Grace and Rose, so I just held her up while we danced. I kept telling her that Rose looked like she was ready to quit, so it was only going to last a little longer.

Apparently, Rose was a very good actress. When there was just a half an hour left, she and Grace started to dance their pants off. They had all this newfound energy and we had no idea where it came from. And that’s when Jenny quit. She couldn’t hold on for that last half hour.

Rose and Grace won the prize money, and they got the trophy. When we were all feeling like we were going to die, they came over to us and offered us an apology. They said to us that they were sorry they didn’t want to work with us. They were just mad about always being left behind. That was the moment that the dance-a-thon ended and the hug-a-thon began.

That had been the only major fight of our friendship. After high school we all went to separate colleges. That was hard, but we still talked once and awhile. Now we’ve all got our own careers and lives. I’ll never be able to forget that summer. I learned a lot about friendship, and how it’s hard work.

The rain had stopped, and the sun was now shining on the couch that I was sitting on. Thinking about the story of that summer made me remember that I hadn’t talked to Rose in a long time. Last time I had talked to her she had just gotten engaged. Who would have thought that shy, quiet, only-talks-when-she-has-to Rose was getting married. Things change, and we all learn to accept it.
